Getting married in Iceland during the winter months means you need to be ready for any kind of weather. The weather can range anywhere from a full day of sunshine, full blown blizzards, rain storms, hail, and or snow. You might even experience the true definition of the Icelandic winter weather and have a combination of all the above. Deciding to get married in Iceland during winter means you must be prepared for anything. This blog features a November elopement with the wonderful couple Lucia and Dan.
When Lucia and Dan reached out to us for a November elopement, we explained to them what weather conditions they might expect. The couple were complete troopers as they experienced many of those conditions on their wedding day.
When planning a wedding or an elopement in Iceland, one of the things you need to think about is transportation on your special day. These options range from self driving, hiring a luxury driving service, hiring a coach, or hiring a super jeep company. Each option has their own charm to it. Lucia and Dan decided to opt for a super jeep driver. Super jeeps allow for you to go on f roads and harder to reach locations. (Please note: Super jeeps should only drive on public f roads unless they have permission from a land owner.)
The Wedding Day
Lucia and Dan’s special day started with a Super Jeep picking them up at the Northern Lights Inn and driving them to their wedding ceremony location.
During our planning process Lucia and Dan expressed to us about wanting to have their wedding ceremony inside of one of Iceland’s natural caves. We recommended a petite cave perfect for their intimate November elopement.
After reading their vows, exchanging rings and sealing the deal with a kiss, the newly weds ventured off to explore more exciting locations.
Lucia and Dan visited 3 other locations including a natural geothermal area, a lava rock pool and a lighthouse.
After their day of adventuring , exploring Iceland along with their photographer, the couple headed back to their hotel to rest and refresh for their wedding dinner celebration. They had a romantic dinner at the hotels restaurant.
It was Iceland Weddings and Honeymoons pleasure to help the couple with the following things:
- Wedding Ceremony Location
- Wedding Celebrant
- Wedding Photographer
- Marriage License Support
- Wedding Flowers
- Transportation
- Reception Dinner Reservations
It was a true pleasure helping this lovely couple plan such a memorable day in their lives. We also wanted to give a shout out to their super talented photographer Leszek for allowing us to use his photographs for this blog.
